Biomembrane Models

Physical Chemical studies (PChem) of the interaction of amphiphiles and nanomaterials with biomembrane models and their applications in new therapeutics
The increasing number of innovations in the field on nanotechnology, nanomedicine, and pharmacy have created a need for the study of the PChem properties of nanomaterials and new amphiphiles, in order to understand the complete range of their interactions with biointerphases. Specifically, we study amphiphilic compounds derived from CD or ascorbic acid, and surface-modified nanoparticles (Ag, Fe3O4 y SiO2 NPs), and their interactions in mixed systems with lipids and other biomolecules in Langmuir monolayers or liposomes (vesicles).
